Thought of the day

I thank whatever gods may be / For my unconquerable soul. / I am the master of my fate / I am the captain of my soul. ~William Ernest Henley, Invictus

Money don't work like that

Very good motivational concept. I agreed with the 3 motivational factors.

However, it seems present in my personal experience, but I still feel personal dissatisfaction. Where I work, I have full autonomy, I want to master skills and I'm allowed to, and we have a common purpose in the company. I think one more factor is collective benefit, or fairness of work across hierarchy. If my manager is empowering me with so much, but he doesn't out-perform himself within these 3 factors, then I have no motivation to out-perform myself. Check-and-balance is important. We should be able to influence our manager's performance review the way they influence ours.

Was most motivated to read more after watching this video. Thanks for digging it out!
